Team Stance attended Black Hawk Farms Raceway for testing, shakedown, and running some competitive times.
Stance/TFWorks Red Evo 9 debut – Still in shakedown mode, it ran one of the fastest times of the day 1:18 , I think only 1 car ran faster time, kit car Cobra. Ran at 70% in low boost. Alignment and suspension needed very little adjustment, thanks to TFWorks for preparing the car. Very impressive considering the driver never drove the track before.
My Evo X – I ran this course last month at 1:27. Very little changed this time other than corner balance and alignment by John at TFWorks. Ran 1:23.1 this weekend. My cross weight was off by 700lbs before! Car felt very balanced and gave me confidence to brake late. Shows you what proper corner balance and alignment can do. I think I can run 1:22 with some bucket seats, X is throwing some serious G’s and even the factory Recaro’s are tough to keep me planted now. Oh and this car just has bolt-on’s and Stance GR+3ways.
Mike’s S14 – Mike was running conservative, as he was dialing the car in. I think cut knuckles are too sensitive. We start to get the car dialed in and he runs off course due to an oil spill on the track. Spends rest of the day fixing broken aero and leaky radiator from the off course. But I think with some more seat time it can do 1:20.
Ryan Upham Evo 8 – Upham was very consistent as usual but was off his usual time by bit. 1:20 I blame the soft conservative KW’s
